There are multiple ways to apply vinyl stickers depending on size of the sticker and surface you want to adhere the sticker to.
Dry Method recommended for smaller stickers, takes less time but sticker will adhere immediately.
Wet Method recommended for medium to large stickers as the sticker does not adhere immediately and can still be moved if desired but it does take more time and patients. The water acts as a barrier between the sticker and surface thus the water needs to be dried or squeegeed out before sticker will adhere to surface.
Basic Instructions:
Step 1: CLEAN/PREP SURFACE
Dry Method: Wipe the surface you are applying the sticker to with rubbing alcohol/spirits and allow to dry before application.
Wet Method: Wipe the surface you are applying the sticker to with rubbing alcohol/spirits and allow to dry before application. Applying a small amount of clean water or some dish soap with a spray bottle may also be used if this method is preferred and if your surface allows some water.
Step 2: PEEL
Use a squeegee/plastic ruler/old credit card to rub over the whole sticker, this is to ensure that the vinyl sticker adheres to the application film. Then carefully peel off the white backing paper. It is sometimes easier to peel the backing paper from the sticker when the sticker is facing down and away from you. Go slow. If some parts of the sticker does not stay on the application film rub a little more on those areas with your finger or squeegee/plastic ruler/old credit card. The goal is the sticker should completely stay left of the application film.
Step 3: APPLY
Dry Method: Place one side of your sticker on the surface while holding the rest away. Use a squeegee/plastic ruler/credit card to rub and smooth the sticker onto the surface.
Wet Method: Applying a small amount of clean water or some dish soap with a spray bottle may also be used if this method is preferred and if your surface allows some water. By using water or dish soap you allow the sticker to be more movable and the sticker will not adhere right away. More squeegeeing will be required to remove the water and soapy water before the sticker will be able to adhere to your chosen surface.
Step 4: REMOVE
Dry Method: Slowly peel the application film at a 45 degree angle. Only your sticker should remain.
Wet Method: When all the water has been squeegeed out slowly peel of the application film if some parts are not adhering to the surface the surface may still be to wet and more time to dry is needed. A hair dryer can be used make sure its not to hot or to close just enough to dry the water.
